Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden - Feb ‘24

A piece of paradise within the city of steel.

If you find yourself in Pittsburgh, PA, and are looking for a peaceful place to get away from the day-to-day stresses of life, look no further. Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden offers a sanctuary of beautiful flora and greenery amidst the loud busy city.

Friendly workers and jaw-dropping glass artwork welcome you. Each room is expertly designed to tell a story of the plants they inhabit. You can truly feel how alive and thriving the space is. Phipps also does an amazing job keeping things “fresh” by cycling through different themes and events. During my trip this time, I caught the tail end of their orchid and bonsai exhibit. It was inspiring getting to see the time and dedication put into each bonsai on display. Most of them were older than me (23)!

People of all ages can find something to take away from this lovely piece of paradise. There is plenty of accessibility and room for handicap needs and/or strollers. They also make it a point to provide enriching activities for your little ones!

Defrost from winter with a new exhibit coming soon…Spring Flower Show: A Closer Look (March 16th-April 14th). I will definitely be returning. Take a look at my full photo collection from this visit under my portfolio page!
